This Tony Castro design is a very comfortable cruiser.
She is perfectly rigged for single-handling with all lines running aft.
Standing rigging is rod rigging, not the typical wire.
The 6'8" draft makes it a very stable blue water sailing vessel and is not a problem in the Bahamas.
You'll sleep like a baby in either the V-berth, Quarter cabin or in the main saloon.
Sails well in both light air and heavy weather and is a comfortable, strong, well-built cruiser with custom features not found in other CS 40s.
She is a great ocean cruiser and lots of fun for day sailing.
The hull is vinyl ester resin so you never need to worry about blisters.
The spacious cockpit has plenty of room for family fun.
The boat will sleep 7 adults, comfortably.
Custom tall rig by Charleston Spars, rod rigging replaced in 2007.
The life jackets are like new and there is a life boat and off-shore safety gear on board.
Deck awlgripped in 2015. 2 speed Gori folding prop. 7 Lewmar racing winches light, Lewmar Windlass, Raymarine Autohelm 7001 with oversize 32000 lb. linear drive. 3 spinnakers, 4 Genoas, Main sail are in remarkably good condition, bimini, 42" double spoke wheel.
A 52" wheel is available for purchase.
It is plumbed and ductwork is in place for air conditioning.
The air conditioner is available for purchase and installation.
There are 3 water tanks to hold 150 gallons of water, a hot water heater and a 55 gallon fuel tank.
Although you will not be using much fuel since she sails so well.
The engine is a Volvo 2003T 3 cylinder 43 hp turbo diesel overhauled in 2003. 3 house 12volt deep cycle batteries and 1 starting battery, all replaced in 2024.
Starter, turbo, alternator and all fluids replaced in 2024.
New bottom paint done in 2024.
There were no blisters on the hull.
The interior includes a full galley with a gimbled 3 burner Force 10 stove, refrigerator and deep double stainless steel sink.
The comfortable nav station has a large desk with ample chart storage, an AM/FM, Weather band radio with USB, MP3, CD player and a WAAS capable VHF with wireless remote in addition to the Raymarine multifunction display and GPS.
The spacious main salon has lots of head room.
There are 2 staterooms and the port settee will convert to a double berth.
All cushions have been reupholstered and the teak refinished in 2017.
